The area of North Warwickshire is mainly rural with several small towns including Atherstone, Coleshill, Polesworth and Kingsbury. Over half of the borough is green belt. There is a good supply of housing often in pleasant rural surroundings yet within easy reach of major towns and cities. Houses are generally more affordable than elsewhere in the country.

Atherstone, Coleshill and Polesworth are the main towns for shopping in North Warwickshire. The Borough Council provides free car parking.
Atherstone has a market on Tuesdays and Fridays offering a wide selection of goods including fresh flowers, fruit and veg, clothing, shoes and books. Bigger shopping centres can be found within easy reach in Tamworth, Nuneaton and Sutton Coldfield and the cities of Birmingham, Coventry and Leicester.

Around the borough there are several country parks, antique, craft and garden centres and picnic areas. There are also ten conservation areas, more than 650 listed buildings and 26 scheduled ancient monuments.
